Official Debian packages have been made available both for the oldstable (sarge) and for the sid, maintained by Günter Geiger. They both are in the "main" official repositories.

There is a farm of machines which automatically build Pd from CVS every night. You can download one of these builds http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/. For Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (i386) and Debian (i386 & PPC).
