A distribution (sometimes shortend as: distro) refers to a bundle or packaging of Open Source software components, which are already compiled and configured. It usually takes the form of either deb, tgz, dmg, exe etc. installer and is downloadable from the Internet.

Examples for Pd distributions are Pd-vanilla, Pd-extended, pure_dyne
